Library & Information Science (LIS) Interests
I decided to pursue an MLIS because I had spent several years, cumulatively, doing clerical work in academic and legal libraries. I liked the work, I liked the environment, I thought, “why not?” What I discovered over the course of my studies was something far more interesting and meaningful than I had anticipated.

LIS research topics I am excited about include, but are not limited to:
Video games and academic libraries - issues related to their inclusion in collections, incorporating them into programming, and serious games.
Information, data, media, and technology ethics.
How to incentivize the high-cost behaviors and complex modes of thought in spite of sticky apps and the accepted logic that less friction is better.
What we lose in the human experience when we reduce friction.
We spend so much time envisioning what technology might do for us, above all, how it will enrich us. I argue we should devote as much time to the question of what makes a human life meaningful and fulfilling, and design technology from there.
Literacy, including traditional read and writing, digital literacy, cultural literacy, and media literacy.
Applying narrative to information literacy instruction, and narrative as an information communication technology (ICT).
Can technology be used to offset the harms of technology?
